Final projects

These are some ideas for final projects or post reading exercises that I'd like to incorporate.

Comic Book Generator: This is something I'd like to use after Persepolis. I think it'll allow creativity, and for those who don't necessarily like drawing, the techonology aspect might interest them.

This I Believe: I'd like to incorporate this into the unit for Night and have students work in a voice similar to Wiesel's or to echo his beliefs in their own lives.

Year Book: Students will have to create a yearbook based on the novel Looking for Alaska. The focus will be finding themes. Instead of having a page for football, band, etc, students will determine different themes and provide "snapshots" of when these themes occur in the book.

Deleted Scenes: For a final project in As You Like It, students will have to create a scene using minor characters. It can take place anywhere during the play, but should try to show cohesion and understanding of motives, intentions and characteristics.

Ender's Game: Create a boardgame. Bring in elements such as characters, challenges, settings, etc.

Autobiographical Essay: This goes along with one of the lesson plans I found. Using the information from there, I'd like to see students write an essay with touches of autobiography as well as human rights.

Character Analysis Paper: Bring this in with As I Lay Dying.

Exploratory Essay: Question based on anything over the year, work on during final reading unit. Presentations during last 3 days of year.
